THE CHALLENGE OF CHANGE
"Change" will be a bi-monthly magazine that will reflect the changes that are taking place in Godrej today. The magazine will also extend its coverage to corporate India and its role in helping to solve some of our country's challenges such as large population, environmental degradation, preservation of our heritage, and others. A major aim is to better acquaint all of us with our founders, their early struggles and major triumphs as well as with our CEOs, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, and others who run Godrej today. There will be gleanings from industrial archives, like those of Godrej, Tatas and others, along with insights into self-improving, rejuvenating endeavours like Partnership 2000. Each issue will reproduce an article of enduring interest. This issue carries the fascinating story of how the Zroastrian holy fire was transported from Aden to India by Air-India. No aircraft ever carried a more distinguished passenger, nor a more potentially risky one! For lighter reading, 'Oddities, Eccentricities, Etc.' will take an amused look at the foibles of great industrialists, such as Henry Ford's misadventure with his 'Peace Ship'. Our endeavour is to present a better, brighter, professionally edited magazine. Mr. Burjor Karanjia will lead the new editorial team. My best wishes for a successful and interactive magazine. Happy reading. Jamshyd N. Godrej |
