Godrej Industries

Nadir Godrej, Managing Director, Godrej Industries Ltd., with Jack Shi, President, Jiangsu Feixiang Chemical Co. Ltd., during his visit to China from 14 to 22 June, 2004. Jiangsu Feixiang Chemical Co. Ltd. is one of our biggest customers for Fatty Alcohol worldwide. Sales (in volume) to China have been growing very rapidly and such visits have helped a great deal in strengthening our relations with customers.
 

Manufacturing Human Resources Meet

he 4th Manufacturing Human Resources Meet, held on 16 June, 2004 at Pirojshanagar, was inaugurated by Mathew Eipe, Executive Director and President (Chemicals). The participants were HR representatives from the manufacturing units of Godrej Industries and associate companies. 

Among the issues discussed at the Meet were:

l Employee productivity.  
l Suggestion scheme.  
l Mutual aid scheme for the dependants of deceased employees.  
l Long-term settlements with employees? organisation.  
l Career development for workmen, etc.  

During the Meet, the Manufacturing HR group also felicitated Mathew Eipe for exemplary leadership of the Chemicals Business team, which culminated in their winning the "Best Business" Award for the year 2003-2004.

There was also an interactive session with D.B. Nimbalkar, Vice President (HRM), Transpek-Silox Industry Ltd., Vadodara, on the topic, "HR Interventions for Productivity Improvement".

Godrej Kesh Kala: "Most Popular Brand"

odrej Kesh Kala, a product of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd., was adjudged the "Most Popular Brand" by Indian consumers in the emulsion base liquid hair dye category at the AMGF Awards function held at Siri Fort, Delhi, recently. Organised by AMGF Intercorp Ltd., the awards are constituted with the idea of evaluating products and brands based on consumer preference with data collected through a nationwide consumer survey and poll.

Over two lakh consumers across the country gave their views on various product categories, such as "Most Popular Brand", "Preferred Debutante Brand" and "Preferred Brand Ambassador". Consumer opinion and views were gathered through polls and surveys, including face-to-face interviews, full-page questionnaires in the media and through questionnaires on the AMGF website. The nationwide poll concluded on 10 May, 2004.

Several leading companies participated in these awards, including Hindustan Lever, Britannia, Rasna, Paras Pharma, Nirma, Henkel Spic, Debon International, Pan Parag, Ghari Detergent and Frontier Biscuits, to name a few.
