Geometric Software Solutions Co. Ltd. (Geometric) specializes in providing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technologies and solutions to the global mechanical design, manufacturing and industrial markets.

Geometric started as a spinoff from the EBE R&D Division of Godrej & Boyce, in July 1994. Started with around 60 people, currently Geometric employs more than 500 Software professionals. In addition to the Mumbai office located at Plant 14, Geometric has its main development centre at Hinjewadi, near Pune and sales offices in U.S., Europe, Japan and Singapore.

The company leverages over 17 years of experience in CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM software development to create innovative technologies, products and custom solutions.

Geometric comprises a unique blend of strengths that sets it apart from other software companies. The company boasts of a highly skilled team of engineers recruited from IITs and IISc. It develops unique technologies, which are licensed to leading software OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), which are used by industrial customers worldwide. Some of our distinctive technologies include:

  • Feature Recognition, a technology that adds intelligence to solid models.

  • Nestlib, an automatic, true-shape nesting software used to arrive at an optimal pattern of fitting shapes on large sheets of material such as sheet metal, metallic plates, leather or cloth.

  • CollabViewTM, Geometric's 3D viewing real time collaborative application framework, which helps organisations collaborate over the Internet/ Intranet.

Geometric has strong, strategic relationships with leading CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM companies. Its venture with Dassault Systemes, the world's leading software developer for the CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM market, has resulted in the formation of a new company, 3D PLM, which develops software for the Dassault Systemes group. Geometric also has partnerships with EDS and MatrixOne, other leading CAD/CAM/PDM players.

Geometric is organised along three business units: Geometry, headed by Shashank Patkar; Information Management, headed by Ajit Joshi; and Collaborative Engineering, led by Sandeep Kulkarni. The management team of Geometric comprises Mr. Manu Parpia, Managing Director; Mr. Nitin Deshpande, Chief Operating Officer; and a number of persons, many of whom started their career in Godrej and Boyce. The Chairman of the company is Mr. J.N. Godrej and other directors include Dr. K.A. Palia and Anita Ramchandran. The Company is traded on both the Bombay (BSE) and the National (NSE) stock exchanges in India.
