Godrej Refrigerator Crowned King

The Godrej Refrigerator, the “most preferred
refrigerator
brand”.
waaz, India’s Hindi consumer channel, in
association with AC Nielsen, ORG-MARG and ICICI Bank, awarded brand leaders
across 21 products. The Awaaz Consumer Awards saw Godrej being voted the
“most preferred refrigerator brand” by none others than the consumers themselves. Despite the
onslaught of competition, Godrej refrigerators have time and again proved
their stature in the market.
First it was the “Superbrand” status, then the “No. 1 in Customer
Satisfaction” and the latest being this recognition from CNBC Awaaz. We are
very proud to say that Godrej refrigerators continue to dominate the minds
of consumers.
The survey was conducted with the aim to
inform consumers about the most preferred brand; the attributes that they
preferred in various categories. This was mainly undertaken to create
awareness among advertisers and manufacturers, about the parameters on which
consumers prefer a particular brand to other brands.
“Preferred” brand rather than “favourite” brand was the parameter captured
in this study, as preference was deemed to reflect experiential and thereby
more realistic responses. Preference also indicated future intentions of
repeat purchases.

Division from the Country Head of AC Nielson.

A nationwide research with about 7,000 consumers spanning 21 cities and 21
product and service categories was collated to arrive at the most preferred
brands in the country for the year 2004-05. This just goes to show that
Godrej has incorporated trust in people all over India.

News Sales and Cricket — A Winning Combination
004-05
was a great year for the Appli-ance Division as they met their Annual
Business Plan targets. The morale of the team was upbeat and the spirits
high for not only the employees on the Godrej payroll, but also for
canvassers/franchisees alike.
In order to celebrate the event as also to set the tone for the coming year,
it was initiated by the Mumbai Branch News Sales team that a cricket match
be organised between the Staff and the Franchisee/Canvassers Teams. The
match was organised by Sangeeta Mishra (Project News) at the Godrej Colony
Ground on 4 April, 2005. A total of 60 members split into five teams were
invited for the match.
The day was hot, the mood was high; the tension to win the match by either
side was seen on everybody’s faces. Since there were five teams, the match
was given the league format with the finals to be held in the evening. The
day went on to see some good batting, bowling and fielding talents with each
Franchisee/Canvasser Team trying to outdo the other and fighting it till the
finish.

L-R: Uruj Abbassi, Appliance Service, presents the Man of the
Match and
the
Best Bowler trophy to Wasim of the Franchisee Team.
In the evening, it was decided that the league winner team would have the
privilege to play with the Godrej Management Staff. Ashwini Keswani tossed
the coin and declared the grand finale match open. The Management Team won
the toss and chose to bat. The Technician Team was led by Wasim and the
Management Staff by Shelke.
Vikram opened the innings with Milon Chatterji. The Staff scored a total of
67 runs in 10 overs, setting a target of 68 runs for the opponents. The
beginning of the Franchisee Team was not encouraging with 16 runs at a loss
of five wickets in just three overs. Seeing the initial success, the
Management Team was all set to win the match. However, the last three overs
turned the match in the Technicians’ favour.
The bowling by Anupam of the Appliance Sales Team — the first over from him
took successful wickets of two and gave away two runs. The second over from
him cost 14 runs tilting the match in favour of the Franchisee Team.
In the end, with just two balls remaining to catch a score of four runs to
win, the match was tight and the crowd became interested. Hitting a four on
the second-last ball off to long on, the crowd went into frenzy and the
Franchisee Team won the match in a tight finish contest by three wickets.
The game was well played by both the teams.
The awards were given away by Uruj Abbassi of the Service Department. Wasim
was declared Man of the Match as also the Best Bowler. Pushpakant Singh was
declared Best Batsman. Sangeeta Mishra

Secure In Our Hands
he
India International Jewellery exhibition is one of the largest events in the
world. The Security Equipment Division is associated with this grand event
since last year. We have agreed to be the official safe provider for this
event.
Last year the event was held at Pirojshanagar and was a great success. This
year it was organised at the NSE (National Standard Engineering) complex,
Goregaon, from 14th to 18th July, 2005. Last year, approximately 420 safes
were rented to the exhibitors. This year the number has increased to 495.
This has resulted in an admirable increase of 20 per cent in revenue through
safes. Most of the exhibitors were so satisfied with the "secure" safes
provided by Godrej that they wanted to be proud owners of the same!

FIG Launches Mattresses
n order to complement the existing
Home furniture range, the FIG (Home)team has come out with yet another addition — that of Mattresses. There are
plans to establish this new addition in the retail segment, with models like
Venus and Pluto (standard range), Neptune and Jupiter (premium). These
Mattresses come with “hessian walling” on all four sides of the coir blocks
to ensure that the internal construction remains intact over a period of
time.
These Mattresses are being launched in a phased manner. The first soft
launch was in Lucknow Branch at Hotel La Place Park Inn on 20 July, 2005.
Some big retail outlets, which are already selling mattresses, were invited
and vital information captured during an open-house session. A press
conference, too, was organised.
These Mattresses, over the course of the year, will be promoted through our
Perfect Home showrooms as well as other channels across the country.
