once again played host to Tooltech 2005, an event organised by the Indian
Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA) from 3rd to 7th February,
2005. Tooltech is the country's largest and most specialised B2B event
featuring global trends in cutting tools, tooling technologies, production
aids, machine tool accessories, metrology, and CAD-CAM equipment and
software. Manufacturing companies looking for automation and expansion in
their setup are the exhibition's target audience.
IMTMA had organised IMTEX 2004 and Tooltech 2004 in the Godrej & Boyce,
Pirojshanagar complex with much fanfare last year. Tooltech 2005, though a
comparatively smaller event, was nonetheless memorable for all of us at
Godrej. Everyone involved in Tooltech 2005 showed the same level of
commitment to make this event a success.

IMTMA took approximately 75,000 square feet in
Plant 6 for its exhibition and approximately 20,000 square feet in Plant 3
for its inauguration.
The Construction Department, Electrical & Electronic Services, Security
Department and the Catering Department of Godrej & Boyce played a
well-coordinated role to ensure that things went smoothly during the
exhibition.
The inaugural event was held on 3rd February, 2005, in Plant 3. Jamshyd N.
Godrej, Chairman — Exhibitions, IMTMA, gave the welcome address. The Chief
Guest, Venkat Subramanian, Chairman and Managing Director, EXIM Bank,
delivered the inaugural speech.
More than 20,000 people visited the stalls during the five days of the
exhibition, which boasted of nearly 200 exhibitors from 15 countries. The
countries represented included France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan,
Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, the U.K. and USA. The
highlight of this exhibition was group participation from Germany, the
world's largest machine tool producing nation.

Godrej Infotech Ltd. (GIL) also participated in Tooltech 2005. Last year GIL had launched eNccompass ERP at IMTEX 2004. Over a period of one year, eNccompass has matured rapidly. Nearly 15 organisations depend on eNccompass for the day-to-day functioning of their business. So, GIL took the opportunity to showcase the benefits that existing users of eNccompass are getting from it. For GIL, Tooltech 2005 was the right forum to give exposure to eNccompass because:

GIL received a good response at the exhibition with over 100 companies visiting their stall and a lot of enquiries being generated.

IMTMA now expects more than Rs. 1 billion of
business enquiries as an outcome of this exhibition.
