odrej Infotech Limited (GIL) hosted the Human Resources Infotech Meet on 20 November, 2003. The guest speaker for the evening was Anil Nadkarni, Director, Human Resources, Siemens Ltd. Nadkarni’s topic was “HR Strategy in Transforming into a Productive and Profitable Organisation”, an experiential learning. He shared his experiences with the audience on the specific role played by HR as a partner in business contributing to the organisation’s profitability.

The event proved popular with HR delegates from various leading IT companies as well as with our employees.

The Eyes Have It

ontinuing the initiatives on employees’ health, a Corporate Eye Screening Programme (CESP) was arranged by the Human Resources Department of GIL. The programme was designed keeping in mind the employees’ erratic work schedules and subsequent neglect of one of God’s most precious gifts — eyes. CESP aimed at generating awareness on eye care and extending information about the ill-effects of computers and modern-day living.

M/s. Lawrence and Mayo, pioneers of eye care in India, conducted vision tests free of charge for employees and their families at our premises on 17 and 18 October, 2003. They also offered a free trial of contact lenses and provided counselling on vision problems and eye care, supported by self-explanatory charts. They shared some invaluable eye care tips with the employees.

M/s. Lawrence and Mayo also offered a complimentary CESP membership card that entitles the employees and their family members to a free eye check-up and contact lens trial at their showroom and a special gift on all purchases at their optical outlets. Our employees were offered 10 per cent discount on all Lawrence and Mayo frames, sunglasses and spectacles, with free delivery to the office.

Most of our employees and their families availed of this opportunity.
