BaaN Implemented

BaaN has been successfully implemented in Godrej Appliances Ltd. GAL (Service) took the lead in its implementation, starting from Mumbai Branch and its Authorised Service Providers (ASPs) and Call Centre, apart from Head Office Stores. The modules implemented are Service and Distribution. The major processes covered by BaaN are service order booking, allocation, updating, spares issues and consumption, collections, service contracts, spares distribution and sale. Regional key user training was conducted between 4 February, 2003 and 22 February, 2003 at Godrej Infotech Limited (GIL), Plant-10, Vikhroli to roll out BaaN in all other branches. The training was conducted by K. P. Acharya, S. K. Sajnani and J. C. Mistry of GAL – Head Office (Service), and it covered the service and spares distribution modules.

Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. and Godrej Appliances Ltd. jointly organised a Road Show from 12th to 16th February, 2003 at their Thane Showroom.

S.M. Shingari, Commissioner of Police, Thane, inaugurated the event. The occasion was also graced by F. K. Khapoliwalla, General Manager (Sales – West) and Ravi Bhat, Branch Manager, Maharashtra Branch.

An advertisement creating awareness about the Show was given in Thane Plus, a supplement to The Times of India. Press releases were given in local dailies. The inaugural ceremony was shown on Thane Varta, a local news T.V. channel. Invitation letters were sent to important and old, loyal customers. The Showroom was decorated with colourful lights, thermacol display boards, colourful banners and rangoli to create a festive and holy atmosphere. The entire range of Godrej Furniture and Home Appliances was on display.

The Show received a very good response and there were ON THE SPOT sales worth Rs. 3.80 lacs. We achieved such great results, thanks to the well-planned and systematic efforts of Thane Showroom personnel N.F. Arjani (G&B), V. D. Pratap (GAL), Prashant Bhalekar (Canvasser) as also cooperation from Branch personnel.
